The Ambassador of the Republic of Hungary
and Mrs. Nada Pejak Simonyi
invite you to attend the screening of an outstanding film in Hungarian with English subtitles, “WALK ON GULAGLAND-KOLYMA (GYALOGLÁS GULÁGFÖLDÖN-KOLIMA). The film revisits Stalin’s notorious Siberian labor camps (GULAG).
The documentary is based on George Bien’s books, “LOST YEARS”
and “ELVESZETT ÉVEK”. The author’s story is about how he, a young Hungarian was able to survive a Siberian Gulag imprisonment between 1945 -55, while thousands of Hungarian youth found their early demise there.
The well-known filmmaker, Zoltán Szalkai and the author, George Bien will be present at the screening and a discussion will follow. The DUNA TV in Hungary broadcast this 55-minute film recently.
Following the screening, the author’s books, (English and Hungarian versions) and a limited number of copies of the film DVD will be for sale.
