[Batthyány execution]
Batthyány execution
By order of an Austrian imperial military court, Prime Minister Batthyány  executed at Pest. ( Oct 6 ) His sentence based largely on trumped-upcharges, e.g., promoting the October 3, 1848 Vienna revolt, and thus causing the death ofLambert and Latour. He attempts to take his own life, but is stopped to make room for thefiring squad, so it can be deemed the cause of death. Haynau was furious: he had orderedBatthyány hanged, as firing squad considered too honorable a way to die.

In Arad Hungary, (Arad - Romania today) thirteen military officers executed :12 generals, one colonel. ( Oct 6 )
