Kossuth mausoleum
The mausoleum within the Kerepes cemetery in Budapest, was originally built by Alajos Strobl in the 1901-1909 time frame of bronze and marble.On Jul 30 1999 the structure was rededicated after several years of on-again-off again restoration. Kossuth's remains had been moved there from Turin, Italy- site of his death in 1894.

Deemed unsafe to enter, reinforcement work started in response to a contract from the "National Panteon" foundation (1991). As work progressed however, needs for additional repairs were identified mostly due to water damage; work was resumed in 1997. The restoring brothers- János and Béla Papp, uncovered many unknown facets of the structure, including identification oforiginal subcontractors. The ceremony was led by András Gergely historian, István Gavlik,president of the Kossuth Asociation (Kossuth Szövetség) also Mihály Ráday and Tamás Katona noted historians.

Starting July 31 the mausoleum is open to the public.
